Inverter Cables and Disconnects

Inverter Cables
These inverter cables are made from high quality battery cable and are sold in pairs. Ring terminals with 5/16" diameter holes are crimped on each end using a professional crimping tool which results in a gas-tight connection. The crimps are covered with glue-sealing heat shrink tubing Red for the Positive cable and Black for the Negative cable. Consult the chart below for the correct gage cable according to inverter size and length of cable needed.

INVERTER CABLE NOTES
Your inverter cables should be sized long enough to "cross-corner" wire to your battery bank. This means the positive and negative inverter leads should be attached to the bank at opposite ends or corners not at the same end. (See any of the kit diagrams on pages 26 to 38.) The inverter cables should also be of equal length even though its seems that cross corner wiring would force one cable to be much longer than the other. The cables should be taped together in a parallel fashion as far as possible before breaking towards their respective corners. The DC175/250 adds 30" to the cable length.

Class T Fuse & Fuse Block

355-001110 Amp Class T Fuse Block$59
355-002200 Amp Class T Fuse Block$59
355-003400 Amp Class T Fuse Block$83
The Class T Fuse Block reliably protects high amperage components from overloads and short circuit damage. It utilizes a Class T fuse which provides the highest amps of interrupting capacity (AIC) of any comparable fuse or breaker. The Class T-Fues Block is designed with protective cover and base to meet the installation requirements of the National Electrical Code.

Trace Inverter DC Circuit Breaker Disconnect

741-250     DC 250 250A     $329DC250
741-251     DC 175 175A     $329
Trace Engineering has made it even easier to install your system to meet the National Electric Code and pass inspection. The DC250 and DC175 are designed specifically for single or dual Trace SW and DR series inverter systems. The DC250 has a 250 amp breaker; the DC175 a 175 amp breaker. The circuit breaker lugs accept up to 4/0 AWG cable.
While the primary function of the DC175/250 is to act as a DC disconnect for your inverter, it can also act as a complete DC control center for your system. Knockouts are provided for four DC circuit breakers which can be used for an array disconnect and a few DC circuits. This is ideal for those that have an AC system but need a DC circuit for a fan or refrigerator. Knockouts are also provided to mount up to 2 Trace C40 charge controllers. There is space inside the DC175/250 for an optional current shunt and/or a DC grounding block.
The DC175/250 is typically coupled to a Trace inverter by means of a 2" offset nipple and a Trace conduit box. Using a DC175 or DC250 is the easiest and least expensive way to construct a DC control panel for all your DC disconnects and monitoring equipment and meet the National Electrical Code (NEC).GJ250
