Wind Power

Whisper, a name with more than 10 years of experience in the field, has been re-engineered and launched under the Southwest Windpower family of wind turbines. The Whisper has an all new look featuring a cast aluminum frame and smooth, quiet operation of the patented "angle-governor" furling design.

Whisper 100 with Controller

The Whisper 100, with its 7 ft. rotor diameter and 40 sq. ft. swept area, is designed for the user located in a site with medium to high wind speed averages (12 mph and greater). The 100 will produce 3.3 kWh/day at a 12 mph average wind speed. The Whisper 100 can be field adjusted for 12/24/36/48 volts DC. It is delivered factory set at 24 volts DC.

The Whisper 100 turbine is a cast aluminum design that incorporates a unique Patented side furling "angle governor" for over speed protection. Output of the turbine is three phase AC power. Power is transmitted to the controller where it is converted to DC.

The Whisper charge controller comes standard with every Whisper wind turbine. It is a universal controller designed to prevent battery overcharging. It features bright LED lights, circuit breakers, stop switch, and a diversion load resistor. Also available is an optional digital display which indicates kWh production, battery voltage, max amps, max volts and actual amps.

The big brother to the 100, the Whisper 200 features a 9 ft rotor diameter and an 80 sq. ft. swept area that provides the user with greater output at low wind speed averages. With twice the swept area, the 200 is capable of producing twice the power of the 100 at lower wind speeds. The 200 will deliver 6.3 kWh per day at a 12 mph average wind speed.
