The Shell
SM Series modules are made from cobalt-blue single crystal cells, encapsulated between EVA and
Tedlar, laminated under tempered low iron glass and encased in a sturdy anodized aluminum frame with butyl sealant.
Installation is made easy by integral wiring boxes with wired in by-pass diodes and terminals which accept plain wire ends (ring terminals are not needed).
The efficient narrow design of the SM50H and SM55 allow up to 6 modules to be placed on a single frame.
The wider SM110 can be mounted four modules to a frame. Installation and wiring diagrams are included.
For those in a hot climate where temperature lowers output voltage, the higher voltage SM55
or SM110 is appropriate. It can also be used where long wire runs cause a voltage drop. Both modules have a
25 year/80% power warranty.

The
Shell SQ85 and SQ85 modules each contain 36 series connected 125 x 125 mm
monocrystalline silicon solar cells. The SQ165 and SQ175 modules each contain 72
series connected 125 x 125 mm mono-crystalline silicon solar cells. The SQ
series modules have a rugged anodized aluminum frame with multiple predrilled
holes for easy installation. Wired in bypass diodes protect against loss of power due to partial shading in higher voltage (above 24V) arrays.
The SQ series modules have a single junction box that accepts standard wire and conduit and is designed specifically for easy field wiring and safety. Installation and wiring diagrams are included.
For larger systems consider the
Shell SQ165or SQ175 series modules. The 24 volt rating and larger size mean fewer frames and wire interconnects per
sub-array, which translates into less handling and installation costs for the large system.
The SQ series modules have a 25 year, 80% power warranty.
*Because of their large size, the SQ165 and SQ175 have a special shipping and handling rate. Please ask for a shipping quote for these modules.
