Array Disconnect 753-001 20 to 60A, 12 or
24V $59 You will need to have a fuse and disconnect between the module array and the charge
controller. In the most basic cabin system this can be accomplished by
removing the fuse in the ChargeMate. The best way is an array disconnect
2-pole circuit breaker rated for DC. These come in 20, 30, 40, 50, or 60
amps. The breaker must be at least 33% greater than the amperage output of
your array and at least 50% greater if you have winter snow reflection in your
climate.
Controller Disconnect 752-030 30A, 12 or 24V $59
752-060 60A, 12 or 24V
$89
You will need to have a fuse and disconnect between
the charge controller and the batteries. We offer two sizes: a 30A version or a
60A version. Each double pole switch/fused disconnect box is labeled for voltage
and current. Each has two RK5 fuses, suitable for DC current.
Module Interconnects
Module interconnects are used to daisy chain modules together to form an array. They are made from 12 ga. USE wire
with stripped and tinned solder ends.
MC
Module Interconnects MC Module interconnects have male and female MC connectors crimped onto 12 ga USE color coded wires. Sold in pairs.

AC and DC Lightning Arrestors 331-302 LA302R AC Arrestor 120/240V
$39 An LA302R should be used between your generator and Xantrex inverter/charger when the generator is located outside and permanently wired with either an underground line or an overhead line. It could also be used on a two wire submersible pump. The LA303R mounts in a three wire submersible pump control box. A must to protect the inverter. The LA302DC is made specifically for DC current surges. Use one to protect your array, charge controller or other DC device. Clamping time is 5 to 25 nanoseconds. The LA302DC is a silicon oxide varistor type device rated to handle 60,000 amps.
DC Lightning Protectors 330-001 12V or 24V DC $16
Every PV system needs a lightning protector between the module array and the charge controller.
This is most conveniently installed in the array disconnect circuit
breaker box. This unit is designed to work with 12 or 24 volt systems.

Array Wiring DevicesArray Junction Boxes These are weather-proof plastic UL listed wiring boxes complete with
cover and gasket. They are used to make connections between the array wiring and the array
down-lead wires. You locate and drill the holes (using an inexpensive 13/16" spade bit) for the weather-tight connectors.
Connection can be made using the terminal blocks or split bolt connectors listed
below. The boxes can also serve as weather heads on electrical conduit.
A PV combiner box provides a convenient way to meet the NEC requirements for series fusing of PV modules. The FWPV-8 accommodates up to eight source circuit breakers rated up to 60 amps per circuit or six source fuse holders up to 15 amps per circuit. The maximum current rating of the FWPV-8 is 120A. It can be used with 12, 24 and 48 VDC stand alone PV systems and up to 600 VDC grid tie systems, using the fuse holders. The FWPV-8 can handle a maximum 150 VDC input on the circuit breakers or 600 VDC input when using the fuse and fuse holders (for grid-tie applications). The FWPV-8 is enclosed in a powered-coated steel NEMA 3R enclosure for either indoor or outdoor use. Its eight input terminal pairs can accept up to #2 AWG wire and its two output terminal pairs, up to #2/0 AWG wire. MidNite Solar makes a 3 position and a 6 position PV combiner box. They are each housed in a gray aluminum rainproof enclosure and accept three or six 150VDC breakers respectively. The MNPV6 will also accept four 600VDC touch safe fuse holders for grid-tie arrays. Each has both a negative bus and ground bus which accept up to 1/0 AWG wire size. The positive bus also accepts 1/0 AWG wire. Maximum total output current is 120 amps. |
Weathertight Connectors Weathertight Connector for Modules 353-001
$3.00
Weathertight Connector for #10 UF cable
353-009
$9.00
Split Bolt Connectors These are used to connect two copper wires together in a junction box. They must be covered with several layers of electrical tape afterwards to
insulate them.
Solderless Lugs
These wire end connectors can be used when crimped or soldered connectors are not available. They are especially useful for making your own heavy duty battery or inverter cables.
Terminal Block 325-004 $10
This is a four position terminal block rated for 50
amps. It will accept up to 6 AWG wire. It can be used to facilitate
wiring between your array and charge controller. L 2-3/8" D
1-1/4" H 1-1/8"
Sub-Array Combiner Block 325-005 $65
Use this heavy duty terminal block to combine up to six sub-arrays for the wire run back to the charge controller. This block could be mounted in a water-proof array junction box (above) to make a sturdy, weather-proof, array combiner box. The terminal block has two poles; each of which has an input for up to six 6 to 14 AWG wires and an output for one 2/0 to 8 AWG wire. It is made of zinc plated aluminum for use with either copper or aluminum wire.
